The 2024 Shift, Young Men and Black Voters Rethink Democratic Loyalty

---Free to Distribute On Your Media Platforms---

As polls tighten, former President Donald Trump is gaining a slight edge in national surveys and making measurable strides in battleground states where the 2024 presidential election will be decided. A critical factor driving these changes is the shifting sentiment among young men.

In a move some see as desperate, Vice President Kamala Harris has introduced a "Black Man Plan," signaling potential concerns within Democratic ranks. The reality is that not just Black men, but young Hispanic and white men, are increasingly turning away from Harris and the Democratic Party.

According to a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll, only 82% of Black registered voters support Harris. This is 5 percentage points lower than where President Joe Biden ended in 2020 and double digits lower than President Barack Obama. The same poll shows Black men supporting Harris at an all-time low for modern Democrats, at 76%.

This shift in voter sentiment is significant, and we believe it demonstrates that the hard work being done by organizations like the Citizens Defending Freedom, Frederick Douglass Freedom Alliance and other grassroots groups is effective. The efforts are bearing fruit as more voters begin to see the value of policies that prioritize individual freedom, economic opportunity, and accountability.

We wholeheartedly encourage Black men and women to vote for Trump, as we firmly believe his policies lead to greater prosperity for all communities, especially Black Americans. However, our advocacy extends beyond party affiliation. The best way for Black votes not to be taken for granted by any political party is for Black voters not to be blindly loyal to a party that does not serve their best interests. When Democrats assume they have our support without delivering meaningful results, and when Republicans overlook our potential influence, Black Americans ultimately lose out.

As we head into the upcoming elections, it’s crucial for both parties to engage with us genuinely and offer solutions that resonate with our values and priorities. For us, it’s as clear as the nose on our face that the Republican Party is the best option.

In this pivotal moment, let’s hold all political leaders accountable and demand they earn our support rather than relying on assumptions about our loyalty. The future of our community depends on it.
