King for America and Bass Public Affairs Will Host Juneteenth Event at Albany State to Reveal a New Site on the Chronicles of Unity Trail

ALBANY, Ga., JUNE 5, 2024, BPALiveWire.com  On June 19, in celebration of Juneteenth, King for America and Bass Public Affairs (BPA)  will host a special event at Albany State University. Juneteenth commemorates America’s progress toward becoming a perfect union, making it an ideal time to unveil the latest site on the Jewish American Chronicles of Unity Trail. The event will feature Dee Dee Bass Wilbon and Deana Bass Williams, leading a conversation about the trail. The event will take place from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on the Albany State University campus and is open to the public and the press.

The conversation and celebration at Albany State is part of a broader initiative called the Yahweh Project combating antisemitism. The Chronicles of Unity Trail is a key component of The Yahweh Project, which honors the historical alliance between African American and Jewish American communities and their shared quest for equality.

During the event, The Bass Sisters will announce the inclusion of a new site in Albany, Georgia on the Chronicles of Unity Trail, further enriching the trail’s narrative and significance.

“We are so excited to head to Georgia, our home state to celebrate a new site on The Chronicles of Unity Trail,” said Deana Bass Williams, Partner at Bass Public Affairs.  “Researching the sites and learning the often forgotten, but rich history of collaboration for freedom between Blacks and Jews in America has been truly rewarding.  We must model this during today’s challenging times.”

The history trail, meticulously curated by BPA, highlights significant locations across the United States where Jewish Americans played a crucial role in promoting freedom and civil rights. Participants will gain valuable insights into the enduring collaboration between diverse communities during challenging moments in American history.

"The Jewish American Chronicles of Unity Trail embodies the spirit of unity and collaboration that defined the civil rights movement," said Dr. Alveda King, Founder of King for America. "We honor the indelible contributions of Jewish Americans to the pursuit of justice and equality."

The Yahweh Project aims to address and combat rising antisemitism in the United States and abroad. Through educational initiatives, media engagement, and cultural influence, the project fosters democracy-focused dialogue and intentional unification.

"The Yahweh Project is a call to action against antisemitism," said Dee Dee Bass Wilbon, Partner at Bass Public Affairs. "As we navigate the challenges of today's world, we must draw inspiration from the historic collaboration between African American and Jewish American communities to shape a future where hatred has no place."
